SKA series electrical attenuators are PIN diode based attenuators. The attenuators are offered to cover the frequency range from 2 to 110 GHz in various interface configurations.
In addition, the attenuators are categorized into two main families, digital and analog controlled. Among the digital controlled family, the attenuators are further classified into general purpose, high phase stable and high speed versions. While the focus of the catalog models are on specific operation frequencies and package styles, custom designed models are available to meet customers’ unique applications.
SKS series single pole single throw (SPST) switches are discrete or MMIC based PIN diode switches. As catalog models, both reflective and absorptive switches are offered up to 50 GHz, but only reflective switches are offered from 50 GHz above. While the TTL driver is internally integrated in the switches with coaxial interfaces for ease control and system integration, an external TTL driver is provided for waveguide configuration. Although the absorptive switch exhibits good return loss in either “on” or “off” states, the insertion loss and cost of the switch is relatively higher compared to its counterpart. On the other hand, the reflective switch has poor VSWR at “off” state since the isolation is achieved by shorting the transmission path, which causes the signal to be reflected. However, the advantages of the reflective switch are its higher power handling capacity and lower cost. SKP series electrical phase shifters are GaAs PIN diode based phase shifters. The phase shifters are offered to cover the frequency range from 2 to 18 GHz. There are two types of phase shifters, namely digital and analog controlled. The analog controlled phase shifters can control the signal’s phase continuously to cover 0 to 360°, but digital controlled phase shifter can only offer discrete phase shifts, such as 180°, 90°, 45°, 22.5° and 11.25° etc. according to the control bit settings. Catalog models focus on addressing specific operation frequencies and package styles, while custom de-signed models are available to meet customers’ unique application needs.
